Poster contest / poster gallery: Single Atom Catalysis

What is this contest about?

The Catalan Society of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (SCN2) aims to promote and give visibility to the work done by researchers from all stages in Catalonia.

  • Are you working on Nanotechnology?
  • Is your research involved in any types of nanoparticle design and/or fabrication?
  • Does your research have an impact on society, thus being an example of how nanoscience and nanotechnology help to tackle the current challenges we are facing?

If your answer to these questions is YES, we encourage you to participate in the V CANN poster contest on 2024. Share your latest results or recycle your poster presented in a recent conference with other young researchers. This contest is about sharing research, having a space for debating and getting to know other nanoscientists very close to us, all working in Catalan institutions.

So don’t hesitate and come to celebrate it with us! It’s the same weekend as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science!

If you want to present a poster remember to…

    • Submit your abstract before midnight, 8th of February 2024.
    • Submit your abstract online. No faxed copies, discs or thumb drives will be accepted.
    • Stick to the deadline! Abstracts received after the deadline will not be accepted and incomplete abstracts will be considered ineligible for inclusion.
    • An abstract may only be submitted to the V CANN once. Duplicate abstracts (reporting the same data) that are submitted under a different author will be administratively withdrawn.
    • Only those participants affiliated to the SCN2 will be accepted in the poster contest. A poster gallery will be available for non-affiliated participants.

Abstract formatting

Give us a short explanation of your poster! Abstract submission will be required during the poster submission

Title

  • The title should be brief, but long enough to clearly identify the nature of the study. Omit author degrees, titles and institutional appointments.
  • Do not include authors in the title.

Authors

  • Indicate the name and location of the institution where the work was done.
  • If an author’s name appears on more than one abstract, it must be identical on each abstract.
  • Authors will not be able to make changes to any author information past the submission deadline.
  • Presenter authors will receive all notifications and communications related to the accepted abstract.

Abstract Body and size

You have 300 words to briefly present the research explained in your poster. Write the abstract freely. As a small tip, we recommend you to include the following sections in order to organize your ideas:

  • Background: summarize the purpose, scope and objectives of the study or research.
  • Methods: describe the methods used to measure your study/research.
  • Results: A summary of the results obtained.
  • Conclusion: A statement of conclusions reached in your study or research. Do not simply state “The results will be discussed.” (Abstracts will not be considered for presentation if this statement is made).

Abbreviations

  • Use abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears. Use no more than three nonstandard abbreviations.

 Selection Process

  • Abstracts related with V CANN thematic may be accepted for presentation in the event taking place on February 10th 2024.
  • Affiliation to SCN2 will be required in order to participate in the contest and have the option to win the prize.
  • Abstracts submitted by non-affiliated researchers will be exposed in the poster contest gallery and authors will share their results and comments there, obtaining a participation certificate, but they will not be eligible for the contest prize.
